Speaking
Speaking and teaching.
I speak at churches, clergy and leaders’ gatherings, training days and conferences, in person or online. My talks are practical and rooted in Scripture, and drawn from what I have seen work in real parishes.
Topics
From survival to growth
What it takes to help a small, under-resourced church find its confidence, build a team and grow again. Drawn from seeing a congregation of 12 become a community of 60.
Planting churches that plant churches
Why planting belongs at the heart of a healthy church, and how ordinary parishes can take part, from new congregations to new groups and fresh expressions.
Disciple-making in the parish
How the ordinary life of a parish church, with its baptisms, weddings, funerals and Sunday services, can become a pathway for making disciples who make disciples.
Small groups that multiply
Starting groups, raising leaders and handing groups on, so that growth does not depend on the minister. From starting, leading and handing on ten groups.
Alpha in the local church
Running Alpha well, again and again, and helping new Christians move from the course into the life of the church. From around eight courses so far.
Technology for mission and growth
Practical ways churches can use websites, online courses, livestreaming and digital tools to reach people and grow, without needing a big budget.
Raising leaders
Spotting, training and releasing leaders, and handing ministry on before you feel ready.
Invitations
The easiest way to invite me is by email. Let me know the event, the date, where it is, who will be there and what you would like me to speak on, and I’ll reply personally.
Online sessions are easy to arrange across time zones. For events further afield, I ask hosts to cover travel and accommodation.
